My talented friend Lucy Lean has written the coolest book.
Its called Made in America.
It is a compilation of some of America's most brilliant chefs! Like Bobby Flay, Curtis Stone, and Joe Bastianich just to name a few. And not only does this beautiful book feature great chefs, but it showcases them 're-inventing' comfort food.
Seriously awesome.
Lucy is throwing a little dinner party to celebrate the release of her book, and has asked guests to bring an appropriate dish. Either something from her book or something that celebrates America!
So I decided to bring my Flag Cake, because its one of my favorite ways to celebrate this great county.
This cake is 25 layers of pure American pride.
And frosting. Lots of frosting.
And a flag inside.
I am so proud of Lucy and this fantastic book she has created. I think it will easily become a classic and a staple in all foodies' cookbook collections!
Here are a few of her dinner guests, if you would like to join the party feel free to visit Lucy's site and learn how!

Awesome book idea! I love this cake! Amazing, amazing amounts of icing always make my mouth water. How's Eddie doing? I miss seeing pictures of your kids. It's been forever since I've seen Colton or Parker. (hint.hint.)
